Resources & Further Information

*Many thanks to Jamie King for providing the text of this Privacy Policy.

2. Copyright

I claim authorship of my work, not ownership. This means you can share, copy, and otherwise use my work as you see fit. I ask only that you credit me, that's all. If you like it so much you want to support me, buy me a coffee. This link will take you to my PayPal account where you can make a donation in the amount of your choice.

Each of my cartoon images is hand-made using a mouse on GIMP and believe me, they take hours. Upload them to your own sites and use them if you want to, but please don't pretend they are your work. Blog posts take time and effort to write. If you like one of my posts and want to use it, why not copy a snippet and link to the post you like? Quoting is fine. Linking is fine, just don't take the whole thing and pretend you wrote it. That's not fair. It's good netiquette to cite and link; in fact, it's doing me a favour, drawing attention to my work without detracting from your own.

Where pictures are concerned, right-click and save them to your own PC, then host them elsewhere before using them. Hotlinking takes up bandwidth so it's very much a no-no. Simply linking the picture to this blog will suffice, to be honest. I just want people to know who made it, that's all.

3. Ads

The ads on display here are not Adsense, they're from other advertisers. I will happily take ads from people who ask me to; email me or leave a comment if you want a spot on my blog. You can have a sidebar spot or appear at the bottom of every post in a rotator. Clicking on the ads will bring you to reputable web hosting services, some of which I've used myself. I've actually been on all of them apart from MT, which specialises in large, complex website hosting. My comics are hosted on 000webhost. I've only left iPage because I didn't want to pay for hosting any more. I don't operate a web design business any more so I don't need a complex shop front with fancy features to display my talents.

4. Opinions

I'm a thinker. A problem-solver. Creative, but basically conservative. These things inform my opinions, which I base on provable facts. As such, my opinions are subject to change as the information I base them on changes. Nonetheless I'm as opinionated as hell and this sometimes annoys people. There's this thing called the Back Button. It's at the top of your screen.

I don't go out of my way to offend people as a rule and I believe what I do because it's what I experience or because that's the information available to me. Everything here on this blog is my own admittedly subjective opinion.

Politically, I'm about two pixels to the right of a middle ground that includes Greens, Pirates, and occasionally, Liberals and the Left. I support the Pirate Party because I agree with their policies, for the most part. I don't believe that laissez-faire free-market economics works because the gap between the rich and poor is widening and the middle class has been gutted. I believe we need a strong middle class to make our mixed economy work and to support the welfare state, which we need if we're going to continue with capitalism. It's why I bash big "L" libertarians at every opportunity.

If you're one of those, either hit the back button now or learn to argue your points without going round and round in circles repeating the same old talking points because you can't admit your economic theories don't work. Heed me on this or I'll block you after I've finally got bored of the roundabout lecture you call a debate. Be warned: I love to argue. Good luck with finding that one on Twitter, the man deleted it because he couldn't stand losing. Too bad!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm opinionated, it sometimes gets me into trouble. On t'Internet occasionally acts as a honeypot for idiots with weird agendas. If you see anything horrible about me on the internet, please bear in mind that you can't pay people by taking money off them, etc. I'd love to be able to do that with my bills! I don't suffer fools gladly — which really annoys them.

5. Comments

I don't really bother to moderate comments, as a rule. Comments I don't want here will be deleted. These include things like adverts for knock-off designer goods, fake medicines, diet websites, and the like. Don't use this blog to shill your stuff or I will block you faster than you can blink. Don't be abusive in any way, shape, or form to me or to anyone else.

If you try to get me into an argument you're having with somebody else, I'm not getting involved. I might help friends out from time to time, but for the most part that means telling you to grow up and learn to get along with each other or let it go because dragging it out isn't making it better. On rare occasions I will help people I know out when they're being mistreated but the case has got to be exceptional. For the most part, your problems are your own.

Want to argue? Okay, fine. Present your points in a reasonable way and be prepared to defend them with facts and empirical evidence. I'm not interested in theory, however fancy or oft-cited it is. It either works in practice or it doesn't. If people are doin' it wrong, why aren't they doin' it right? I learn a lot from arguing so be prepared for the possibility that I might change my mind about something if you present your argument convincingly enough. It does happen. Please bear in mind that I'm often offline for extended periods so don't get upset if I don't immediately respond to your finely-crafted point. I've got a life.

6. Writing

I am VERY interested in guest blogging opportunities. Email me or post a comment if you want to do that. If you want to guest post here, please let me know. I'll certainly consider it.
